For teacher Svitlana Vasylchenko, the war began back in 2014, when her former students went to serve on the Eastern front. Mrs. Svitlana told the boys: "If you ever need any help — call me."

At first, there were requests for the most basic necessities, later — charity concerts and fundraising events. In 2022, the circle of support expanded: canned meat, camouflage nets, charity fairs, donations from teachers and parents. Svitlana opened a separate card for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where she collected funds from the community and sent them to the front.

In the school museum, there are flags signed by soldiers from 2014 and 2022. Svitlana keeps photos of the defenders and their families. These photographs are, in a way, lessons of remembrance. "There is a folder of joy, and there is a folder of sorrow. I pray that the first one will always be larger," says the educator.
