For Inna, the war has been going on for more than a decade – since 2014, when she lost her home in Pervomaisk, Luhansk region. Back then, when she went to visit her mother, she had no idea that she would never return – on the day she left, the city came under heavy russian shelling. Later, they started bombing Hirske, her childhood town, where her mother lived. So intense that one day you fall asleep under the Ukrainian government and wake up under enemy occupation.

An explosion near her home almost deprived Inna of her eyesight – that’s when she decided to leave. First, to Kharkiv, and then to Kyiv. But the war caught up with her here too: A russian Shahed hit the house next to the shop where Inna works. She says she’s seen a lot, but she’s never seen such destruction. But despite everything, Inna does not want to leave Ukraine. Because no matter how many times she has had to flee, she knows the value of her home better than anyone.
