For Ihor Tretyak, head of the Clinic of Reconstructive Neurosurgery at the Romadanov State Institute, professor and doctor of medical sciences, the war has had a major impact on the nature of his work. The staff could not come to work, had to cancel planned surgeries, evacuate operated patients, and work during alarms and arrivals. Some employees lived at the institute for a month because their towns and villages were occupied. However, the mutual support and courage of the doctors helped to operate on wounded soldiers and civilians, despite the fact that the number of surgeries had increased two to three times.
