On the eve of the war, Yeva Tsipun suffered a disaster. Her elderly mother suffered a stroke and went into bed. The village of Tavria, where the family lives, came under occupation in the first days of the invasion. Yeva's children and three grandchildren were with her at the time. They were hiding in the basement for more than a week. Every day, the grandchildren, the youngest of whom was three years old, felt worse. So the young people left.
The woman was left alone with her 90-year-old mother. Help came unexpectedly. A few days later, Yeva's son-in-law reached her! He traveled most of the way from Kyiv on foot.
On the eve of the liberation, russian soldiers robbed the Tsipuns' house and tried to steal her late husband's old car from the garage. But the proximity of the battle frightened the russians.
