Iryna’s hometown is Luhansk, where she lived until the summer of 2014. She bitterly recalls how the city was plunging into chaos: the seizure of administrative buildings by marginalised groups, the first shots fired, the feeling that staying there meant putting herself and her son in danger. Then she moved to Dnipro, started her life from scratch – and could not even imagine that the war would catch up with her again in 2022. But this time, Iryna made a firm and final decision: to stay. Since 2015, she has been actively involved in projects to support internally displaced people, and in 2017, together with her friends, she founded a non-governmental organisation to help IDP women adapt to new conditions. With a degree in psychology, Iryna now supports others in overcoming the crises she once experienced. She says that people are her main inspiration. And she sincerely believes in the victory of goodness.
