At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Yaroslav’s family left Volnovakha under shelling. The road was dangerous:  shells were flying over the car, explosions could be heard. They managed to take only the most necessary things, but personal belongings, including his notebook with his writings, were left at home.

Grandfather and grandmother tried to evacuate together, but because of health problems they had to return to the city, which remained under threat. Many friends left later or stayed in occupation, and contact with some of them was lost.

Now Yaroslav lives with his parents in Lutsk. He is going through losses, gradually adapting to a new life, and finding support in his family and close friends. He dreams of studying psychology to help people who go through similar trials.
