Yaroslava works in local self-government and has been volunteering since 2014. She knows what it means to rescue children under explosions, to evacuate them abroad, and then return home again — because her heart will not allow her to stay aside. That night of August 28, 2025, became the most terrifying one for her: under shelling, she ran to the shelter with children, shuddered at the whistling of rockets, and tried to give first aid to the injured. That night, a russian missile destroyed a building in the Darnytskyi district of the capital, taking dozens of lives. Yaroslava stayed to help, convinced that someone must be there in times of trouble, and that unity and mutual support are the keys to victory — the one that will surely come.
