When the russians entered Myrotske, they drove all the locals into cellars and did not allow them to go outside. They threatened to shoot to kill for disobedience. Vasyl Komarnytskyi, a local history teacher and priest, risked his life several times moving around the village. He went to the church where there was still food left. He brought as much as he could hold in his hands to the shelter. There were about a hundred residents of Myrotske in the shelter, including 25 children. Vasyl’s family was also there. The priest recalls how people died during the shelling. But the russians did not allow burying them.
