In Kyiv, amidst the general panic, Tetiana saw huge queues outside military registration and enlistment offices and people rushing to evacuate the city. Her husband and two sons were determined to defend their homeland. On April 5, Tetiana saw her son Sviatoslav for the last time. They said goodbye before leaving for Kharkiv region. A few days later, when he was ambushed in Iziumskyi district, Sviatoslav was killed in front of his father – by a direct hit from a shell. Tetiana’s husband was seriously wounded, but despite the loss of his arm, he continued to save other soldiers by driving the vehicle with one hand.
