Sofiia misses her hometown. She was 11 when she had to leave Bakhmut. Back then, there was still hope of returning home. They left on April 5, after an enemy shell fell in front of her parents’ car. The only thing that saved their lives was that it did not explode. Then the family moved to Poltava. Later, they found out that their home in Bakhmut was destroyed and they had nowhere to return to. And in 2025, Poltava became dangerous as well. There was an arrival not far from the house, and the glass in Sofiia’s room was smashed. The girl dreams of peace. She also dreams of returning to Bakhmut, although she understands that it will be extremely difficult to fulfil this desire.
