"The roof was blown off, and windows were shattered in an instant"

Dozens of houses were destroyed by artillery engagement in the spring. Many civilians are unable to recover from such shock. To say that we were scared is to say nothing at all.

We live on the outskirts of the city, in the village of Kirovo, and the trouble did not come to our house, it flew in our house,  along with the artillery shell. The roof was blown off, and windows were shattered in an instant. My six-year-old daughter and I were within an inch of death. It might have been different if the ties and pieces of rail from the railway had been thrown straight at our windows.

We spent all our savings on home repairs, but we could not replace all the windows that were blown out by a blast wave. I had to cover them with film. I hope we will endure during the winter.

I worked at the housing maintenance office, but after the redundancy dismissal I was forced to trade on the market. Certainly, I get very little money. There are times when I can't even buy food, because I don't have any money.
