Resident of the village of Krasne in the Brovary district of Kyiv region, Oksana Mishchanyn works as a social worker. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this brave woman did not abandon her duties. Under shelling, she visited those in her care. She brought bread and other food almost daily to the sick and elderly. "I had to go. I walked and prayed the whole way that they wouldn't hit me. It’s so scary: you step out of your yard, something flies overhead—you crouch down. But then you pick up your bag and keep going. I told them: "Hold on!" and then I’d step outside the gate and cry," the woman recalls March 2022.

Ms. Oksana holds on to hope for a swift end to the war: "I believe that our God will grant victory to our land, and this evil will perish," Oksana says.
