Tymur Zorin was born in Skadovsk, a town on the Black Sea coast that he remembers as sunny and noisy: beaches, shouts of corn sellers, warm summers. But then he and his family came under russian occupation.

He recalls that he spent about a month in Skadovsk after the start of the full-scale war. The most frightening things were the enemy tanks on the streets and the despair of his mother, who worried about her children every day.

The family was able to move to Mykolaiv, and life had to start anew. Adapting to the new city was a real challenge. It was hard to leave his home, his memories of the sea and his carefree childhood. Nevertheless, Tymur is trying to get used to the new reality and keep going.

The boy told his story during the Peaceful Rest for Children of Ukraine programme in Zakarpattia, organised by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.
