Liudmyla knows very well what it means to leave your home. In 2016, she left occupied Khartsyzsk for Kyiv when she realised the harsh truth: the “russian world” was already here. Her daughter was waiting for her in the capital. No one imagined that in 2022, war would knock on her door again. The first explosions echoed in her heart with a painful déjà vu – did she really have to flee again? Liudmyla left for several months to western Ukraine, but she returned – Kyiv became her new home. It is impossible to get used to war, even with bitter experience. But the love of her family, her students and her work as a teacher are what inspire her and keep her optimistic.
