Mariana Honcharenko vividly remembers Kyiv’s railway station during the peak days of evacuation. People, dogs, cats formed an enormous crowd — confused and tense. It was extremely hard to get onto a train. She managed to do so only on the fifth attempt.

After returning to Kyiv, Mariana repeatedly found herself under shelling. Fortunately, her building has an underground parking garage where one can take shelter. But even there, because of people’s heightened anxiety, conflicts would occur.

Drawing helped her cope with stress. Mariana is an artist. The emotions that artists experience, they transfer into their works. And this becomes a kind of anti-stress.
