For Halyna, the word “war” is not just a collection of sounds. She lives it with her heart, every cell, every prayer. From the first day of the full-scale invasion, her youngest son joined the army. He fought in eastern Ukraine. He went through Avdiivka, Pokrovsk, many hellish places, saw death, lost his comrades. Later, her eldest son also went to the front. But Halyna did not allow herself to despair. She has been helping the military since 2014. She used to work at a school, where she and her colleagues collected aid – food, nets, warm clothes. Now she is part of a friendly team of volunteers. Together with the girls, she makes camouflage nets and delivers food to the boys.
