On October 21, 2023, she went out into the yard, suddenly heard a powerful explosion in the morning silence. The next moment, Yana Kovalova saw her completely shattered leg. Then the neighbours saved the life of the woman, took her out on their own car from Avdiivka to Pokrovsk. The leg could not be saved. After the amputation, Yana was evacuated to Lviv, to the center "Unbroken" for treatment, rehabilitation and preparation for prosthetics.
Yana lived all her life in her native Avdiivka, even after a full-scale invasion during the fierce battles for the city, she did not go anywhere. Until August 8, 2022, she worked in the city library, until the airstrike hit the library...
