"Every shot for my 11-year-old grandson was a shock"

Shelling in our area does not subside, it is scary to leave the house. Today it seemed like it was normal in the morning, and then they started shooting over again.

Every shot for my 11-year-old grandson Sasha is a shock. After being injured, even the most distant sounds of explosions terrify him. I always try to be close to him, I meet him after the school. Before, he did not seem to be afraid, but now he is.

We walk home from school for a few minutes. Around are the broken houses, debris and frightened people. We found bullets both in the garden and in the yard. One bullet got stuck in our summer kitchen. In the house, the walls are cut by fragments, and the glass in the windows is cracked. It's very dangerous to live in our house.

Because of the shelling, my grandson does not go out to the street. At home he does his homework on the windowsill. He likes math, physical education and football. Before his injury, he was  in the school team's at the gates. Now he had to give up training, Sasha thought that the injury would put an end to his sports activities, because the bullet damaged his leg.

It happened one afternoon in the middle of the street, when Sasha was riding his bike to the store. The bullet struck the hem of his pants and lodged in the bone in the instep. My grandson spent three weeks in the hospital, and then went to rehabilitation in Slavyansk. He says that nothing hurts anymore and he can run freely.

I am the only relative for Sasha. His father died and his mother was deprived of parental rights. We also experienced the most difficult times, when we did not get my pension for five months - then we survived thanks to humanitarian aid. We are getting it now.
