On New Year’s Eve, an explosion went off just 80 meters from Nina’s home. The blast wave hit so hard that the roof had to be replaced – volunteers helped with that. She stayed in Pokrovsk for several more months, even though the danger was constant, as the city center was bombed regularly by the russians. The hardest part was having a small child – she needed to be bathed, hygiene products were essential. It was only in August 2024 that the woman, together with her whole family, managed to leave for Dnipro. They took their pets with them – a cat and dogs. For their sake, they now rent a house. And they believe that one day they will return to their native Pokrovsk.
