Kyiv resident Olha Sheremeta recalls one of the worst attacks on Kyiv in the summer of 2025. She woke up to the sound of Shaheds. After the first explosion, she managed to run to the bathroom with her children. And there she heard a terrible sound – a Shahed hit her house!

Then Olha took her first aid kit and ran downstairs to the shelter with her children. There she counted more than 20 explosions. When she came out, she saw a pile of glass and smashed cars.

“The worst thing”, says Olha, “is when you hear a Shahed already descending and approaching. You just stand there, hug your family and pray.”
