“My son called his native village ‘Sunny Lakes.’ He was killed near Bakhmut”

Zhanna Lyshchuk heads an association of women volunteers who tirelessly cook food for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The team is elderly – the women are 60–70 years old. But they do not spare their strength for a good cause. They call themselves the volunteers “Sunny Lakes.” That is exactly how the son of Zhanna Lyshchuk used to speak about his native village. He went as a volunteer to the front and was killed defending Bakhmut.
