When the shelling starts, I have nowhere to run. When the shells hit, I sit under the fence. I've lived during World War II, but I've never seen anything like it.

My neighbor from a direct hit of a shell in his house was dying before my eyes – he was thrown against the fence. He died in an ambulance.
