“Death, blood, craters that remain after mines ”

Because of the war, my grandfather and grandmother on my father’s side took me from Luhansk and brought to me Shchastia town. I slightly remember the yard of my grandmother on my mother’s side and the yard of my godmother, they live nearby. When we first arrived, probably three months later, hostilities began in Shchastia. This is, I’m not even afraid to use the word “death”, this is blood, these are craters that remain after mines, these are constant screams, sounds, and confusion.

We hid in a bomb shelter to escape all those shots, all that noise. We slept in a bomb shelter for about three days. I did not fully understand what was happening.

Peace for me is a carefree sky, cheerful children, when people are not afraid that something might happen to them, go outside, have fun and do not think about anything so bad. That is when everything is only positive in life. This is probably what peace means for me. My big dream is probably to grow up to be at least an educated person, and not some stupid girl. An educated, intelligent and decent person. I would like to become a lawyer or a notary, and somehow stop being afraid of people.
