Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, volunteers from the Ruzhyn community in Zhytomyr region have been collecting aid and delivering it to the front line to support Ukrainian defenders. Several strong volunteer centers have been established here, and Iryna Kucher joined one of them. From the first weeks of the full-scale war, Iryna tried to find a way to help: she cooked food for the military, wove camouflage nets. She recalls how volunteers wore their fingers to blood but kept weaving the strips.

When her husband went to the front, she again returned to an anxious state. Especially when she found out that her father-in-law had been wounded. The war has taken many lives, and Iryna always tries to support those who have lost loved ones, always looks for ways to help.
