War is a deep personal tragedy for every family. For Tetiana Tymoshenko from Kyiv region and her family, the war brought losses and bitter memories that will remain with them forever. She recalls how her brother’s daughter tried to leave the war zone with her family. Unfortunately, their attempt to escape ended in tragedy: on the way out, the family was shot by the russian military. A child was killed and two of her relatives were injured. The loss was a heavy blow to her.

After the de-occupation of the region, Tetiana joined a powerful local volunteer movement. She notes that even in the darkest times, it is important to be able to be useful, because it helps not to lose hope.
