“I had to leave the city because the war started”

Slovyansk is a rather small town, but I like it to be there. I do not want to move away from it anywhere. Yes, I had to leave the town as the war started. My family and I packed our bags and left for the seaside. I do not remember how long we were there. Maybe a month, or maybe three months.

War is when there is shelling, when mines explode, tanks drive, when it is very loud and scary. I was five years old. I don’t know. My parents explained it to me that yes, the war had begun, but I was still a child and did not really understand what it was, whether it was serious or just for a while.

What makes me happy is that I live on, I have my relatives, my close and dear ones who support and love me. I have people who are my friends.
