Liudmyla was at home in her native village in the Zhytomyr region when the war began. The scariest part was that her children remained in Irpin. Only after a month was Liudmyla’s son able to break out of the occupied city on a bicycle under shelling. Her daughter, along with her children, spent two and a half months in the basement of a private house, and fortunately, the shells missed her home — although almost the entire street was destroyed. All that time, Liudmyla spent in prayer. She continues to pray for Ukraine’s defenders, and from the very first days, she has also helped in action — weaving camouflage nets, donating, collecting aid. The dove near her house has already sung to Liudmyla of victory, so she sincerely believes it is only a matter of time.
