Svitlana Antonenko

“I left Bakhmut in an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) along with soldiers who had sustained injuries”

Svitlana Antonenko had a severe psychological ordeal. During intense fighting in Bakhmut, she was thrown down by the shockwave in her own apartment, resulting in a concussion. She found herself unable to breathe as her house came under tank fire. Soldiers came to her rescue, providing cover in the basement and assisting her in leaving Bakhmut along with other wounded soldiers. Svitlana remained in native Bakhmut until April 26, 2023.
