“We were simply being exterminated”

“My neighbor was killed, he burned down in his house, and a mine landed in our house a few days after we left,” said Volodymyr Hordiienko. When the shelling was far away, the man drove around the city and tried to earn extra money. But when the situation in Bakhmut began to worsen, and neighboring houses were being shelled, Volodymyr and his wife decided to leave their hometown.
