Liubov faced the full-scale invasion with a sense of uncertainty and fear for her children's future. Her husband decided to stay and defend the city, so the family did not leave, although they lived out of their suitcases, preparing for the worst. Liubov recalls how she prayed during the explosions while putting her children to bed so that they would not wake up from the loud sounds. Liubov experienced special pain when the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. She was very sympathetic to all living things that suffered because of this tragedy.
