“When my father and I went to swim at a lake, “Grad” shells flew over us

My most ordinary family consists of dad, mom, my little brother and me. Dad works for a tile-making company. Mom is on maternity leave looks after my brother, and also looks after the house that we rent. I go to school. And my brother goes to kindergarten.

Before the war, we lived in Gorlovka, and now we temporarily live in Izium.

Before the war, my family and I spent all weekends together. We usually went to visit relatives and friends. We went to cafes and playgrounds.

However, when the war came, we moved to another city, Izium. In Izum I found new friends and girlfriends. The school had a new teacher. And I had a new home. My family and I stopped meeting as often on weekends as we used to. We didn’t know anyone, so we didn’t go to visit anyone.

Two moments that I remember the most. When my dad and I went to swim at a lake, the “Grad” shells flew over us. And there was a shrilling sound. The second ... When I, my younger brother and my parents were passing near my old school # 16, they began to bang very hard. We got scared and went on faster.

I learned about the camp thanks to my grandmother. My grandmother found some information about the camp on the page of the Headquarters "Here to Help" on the Internet. Then my grandmother called my mother, and my mother told me. I joyfully agreed to go to this camp. Mom called the hotline of the [Rinat Akhmetov] Foundation and signed me up to the camp.

The headquarters gave me a free voucher to the “Solnechny” camp in Svyatogorsk. I found this help very beneficial. In this camp, I love our counselors, cool discos and amusing activities, interesting crafts; I made a surprise for mom - a paper heart.

My dream is to go in for sports, athletics. Now I attend the athletics section.

I would like to express my thankfulness to Rinat Leonidovich for the free trip to the camp. Here I had a great recreation and had a good time. I also want to say thank you for the food kits that the Humanitarian Center gave to our families as displaced persons.
