Valentyna from Borodianka is the deputy for educational work at a vocational agrarian lyceum. On the morning of February 24, 2022, her daughter called from Kyiv and informed her that the full-scale war had begun. Valentyna’s husband went to refuel the car, and she headed to work, where she and her colleagues organized the evacuation of students from the dormitory and hid documents and equipment. On February 25, her husband, a retired serviceman, insisted that they leave Borodianka. The family moved to an old house, where, together with their animals, they spent several days in fear and without sleep, hiding during air raids by enemy aircraft. Later, Valentyna returned to Borodianka to retrieve documents. As soon as she arrived, she heard a rumble — a column of russians was approaching. With her own eyes, she saw the first enemy machines of death.
