Serhii from Ivankiv is a man of great courage and a man with a clear memory of the first days of the invasion. On February 24, 2022, he heard explosions and immediately went to his daughter in the village of Sukachi. He was with his family when the fighting began on February 25 — right next to the house. He filmed the movement of russian military equipment, risking his life, documenting columns and shelling to show the truth to those who did not believe. During the shelling, Serhii rushed to put out a burning summer kitchen, saving a bedridden woman. He was caught in an explosion but survived and still managed to extinguish the fire. Serhii is also a volunteer, a participant in the “Living Stories of War” project, the compiler of a book of memoirs about the Ivankiv region, and is actively involved in preserving the memory of what was endured.
