Yurii is a poet, a resident of the Kyiv region, who found himself in the midst of events from the very first hours of the full-scale invasion. At first, he did not believe in the reality of the war, until he saw a large amount of enemy military equipment. Yurii actively helped the community: he delivered food, informed people about bread baking, wrote down needs, and joined volunteer initiatives. Together with locals, they organized shelters, checkpoints, baked bread, launched generators — all of this helped the community survive in isolation. The most frightening for him were the days when fighting was going on around the settlement, snipers were operating, and enemy equipment was standing nearby. He still lives through those events and expresses his experiences in poetry.
