"We still can't get used to the silence"

A shell destroyed part of our house. I ran out and shouted, asking, "For what!?"

We still can't get used to the silence

Now the entrance door is a support for the gate. We have no windows and no coal to heat the house. We don't close basement. We still can't get used to the silence and are ready to hide there from the shells at any moment. This is the place  my daughter and I spent our nights during the shelling. We had massive attacks here twice. Now we use the cellar for its intended purpose. Still, I find it hard to believe that this stillness will last for along time.

We still can't get used to the silence

The last time I was terrified was when my daughter and I said goodbye to each other and asked each other for forgiveness.
