Taisiia had never planned to leave the country, but the war forced her to — she was saving not only her own children, but also the children of friends who had no way to evacuate. That was how the moves began: from country to country, from one unfamiliar home to another. Yet nowhere did she feel the presence of a real home — her own, the one her heart ached for. When she finally returned, the war’s terrifying breath was suddenly right beside her: the warhead of a russian Kh-101 missile fell straight into the garden next to her house, miraculously not exploding. Taisiia calls that day her second birthday. She knows for certain: despite everything, her choice is her native land, her own home, and her faith in a peaceful tomorrow.
