In Mariupol, Danylo worked as a urologist at the regional hospital. "I was struck by the thick, ominous darkness. The sky was covered with smoke. It was burning. The city was constantly on fire. You couldn't even see the moon," says Danylo Mitrakov.
The young doctor helped the wounded as much as he could. But he himself was repeatedly one step away from death. "The flash was bright. It felt like it came to our house. A powerful explosion. Loud. The house flew into the air. The walls were shaken. We fell to the floor. We flew off the sofa with my mum. Me, my mother and father were lying on me. We were lying together in the dark under heavy shelling. The walls were falling on our heads," says Danylo.
