She could get anything; she was bringing the aid to the places nobody went to

Zhanna Kamienieva, a volunteer, was evacuating people from Bucha.

On March 5, she was getting her employee, her 14-year-old daughter, and her neighbor out of Bucha to Kyiv, when the car was shot by the armored vehicle and, probably, from submachine guns. As a result, the car burnt down, and all four people were killed.

Since Zhanna disappeared, her family and colleagues were trying to find her. Finally, after the liberation of Kyiv region from the Russian occupiers, her vehicle was successfully identified by the VIN code.

Zhanna marked her car with the signs “Children” and “Evacuation”, but it didn’t save her.

Ms. Kamienieva had been volunteering since 2014 року, helping the military. She also brought aid to the orphanages of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and after the beginning of the full-scale war, she was helping save people from those places.

“She could get anything; she was bringing the aid to the places nobody went to; she could radiate optimism and kindness,” — Svitlana Shevchenko, her acquaintance, remembers on her Facebook page.

Rest in peace!
