Zoreslav died in early March. His body was found only in mid-April with signs of a violent death.

I have never seen anything like this in my life, and I wish nobody experienced it

“I happened to be almost in the center of the active combat. I have never seen anything like this in my life, and I wish nobody experienced it,” — wrote Zoreslav Zamoyskyi, a freelance reporter from Bucha, on his Facebook page.

On March 1, he posted several dozens of pictures of Vokzalna street, wrecked after recent fights. Destroyed houses. A pile of smashed machinery. Zoreslav used to live nearby.

“I started to keep my diary, telling about the days of this war. I filled it out for today and wrote about three previous days, starting from February 24, from my memory. I want to describe the events of these days in more detail further on,” — he wrote the same night.

Yet, a few days after this note, the man’s friends could not get in touch with him. Only in the middle of April did they find out that his body, bearing the signs of death through violence, had been found in Bohdana Khmelnytskoho street in Bucha.

A 43-year-old Zoreslav didn’t have a family in Kyiv region. The local Jewish community buried him.

We will cherish the memory of him!
