“You brought us joy, a desire to live, smile, and take action.” These heartfelt words were shared with the team of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation during a recent visit to the Udaytsi Educational and Rehabilitation Center for Children in Chernihiv Region. This center hosted the Foundation’s annual New Year campaign, a vital part of its comprehensive program, Rinat Akhmetov to Children.

The center is home to children with diverse needs — orphans, children deprived of parental care, and those with special educational or physical requirements.

“I feel amazing right now; it was so much fun today. We played so much that I feel like taking a nap now!” shared 15-year-old Danylo, one of the center’s residents.

“Thanks to you, our guests, we could forget about the war for a moment and feel like we were in a fairy tale. At today’s celebration, I felt like I was 15 again — jumping, dancing, and laughing alongside the children,” said Nataliіa Pokhodenko, an educator at the Udaytsi Center.

Creating moments like these is at the heart of the New Year campaign. Alina Klimchik, Project Manager at the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, explained:

“For over 20 years, we’ve been working to ignite hope and optimism in young lives. Our mission is to show children that anything is possible when you believe in yourself and have friends ready to support you.”

The New Year campaign is part of Rinat Akhmetov to Children, a flagship program that has systematically provided comprehensive assistance to children across Ukraine. Supporting young people is a top priority for the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which has reached over 5 million children through its initiatives.

Thanks to this program, young Ukrainians receive medical treatment, hearing aids, psychological and physical rehabilitation, and opportunities for personal development and self-fulfillment.
