The Museum of the History of Kyiv is hosting the VOICES Exhibition, which presents the multimedia space of The Museum of Civilian Voices by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. Recently, Dmytro Kryskiv, a well-known footballer and central midfielder of Shakhtar Donetsk, visited the exhibition.

“Video and voice memories of people evoke many feelings. You see everything that happened not before your eyes. You are transported into the stories of other people, you feel the horror they experienced,” says Dmytro.

He was born in Kharkiv and was there at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. His parents remain in the city, which is being destroyed by the enemy. Dmytro says that he would have been there himself if he hadn't been playing football... His concern for his family and his city echoes his emotional impressions of the exhibition.

“VOICES is a big and important work of many professionals. We need to talk about the events in Ukraine. This is our modern history. We cannot just forget people, including those who lost their lives. Everyone must contribute to our great victory. I urge everyone to help wherever you can,” says Dmytro.

The VOICES Exhibition is open to visitors until 26 May 2024 at the Museum of History of the City of Kyiv, 7 Bogdana Khmelnitskogo Street. Admission is free. A curatorial tour will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. and is also free of charge.

The Museum of Civilian Voices by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation is the world's largest archive of Ukrainian war stories, having collected more than 100,000 first-hand testimonies. Tell your story on the portal or on the Foundation's free hotline, 0 (800) 509 001.
