High school students and teachers from all over Ukraine are sending their works to the essay contest "1000 Days of War. My Way' organised by the Museum of Civilian Voices by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. The essays are evaluated by an expert jury of people with extensive experience in various creative fields. Their participation will strengthen the credibility and objectivity in selecting the most talented essays and choosing the winners. One of the jury members is Ivan Stepurin, a well-known Ukrainian publisher, founder and head of the Samit-Knyga publishing house.

"As a publisher, I was honoured to be involved in the publication of the unique photo book “Donbas and the Civilians” by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which gave me the opportunity to meet strong and proud people who, despite the horrors of war and personal tragedies, have preserved their love of life and faith in a better future for their country. The young people's essays are valuable not only as historical eyewitness accounts of the war, but above all as a manifesto of those who will rebuild their beloved homeland from ashes and ruins," emphasises Ivan.

 

To participate in the Essay Contest "1000 Days of War. My Way’ is open to students of the 9-11th grades, first- and second-year students of colleges and vocational education institutions, teachers of secondary schools, colleges and vocational education institutions of all regions of Ukraine.

You can submit your essay until October 20, 2024 only through the official registration form on the website of the Museum of Civilian Voices by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

The winners will be announced on December 20, 2024 on the Museum's website They will receive diplomas and useful gifts. The best works will become part of the Museum of Civilian Voices by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation - the world's largest collection of stories about the war in Ukraine, which already contains 120,000 first-hand accounts.

The competition is organised by Rinat Akhmetov Foundation with the support of the State Scientific Institution Institute for Modernisation of Education Content and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The goal is to emphasise the importance of peace as the main value of society, the strength of spirit of Ukrainian youth despite the war, their ability to find light in dark times and look to the future with confidence.
