Nataliia is a teacher of Ukrainian language and literature. Since the outbreak of full-scale war, she has ceased to be just an assistant or mentor for her students. Nataliia tries to save the children's knowledge and motivation, calms them down when they are anxious, and keeps in touch with her students who have gone abroad to escape the war and who have defended Ukraine against the Russian invasion.
Nataliia's son is also currently fighting for Ukrainian independence at the frontline. The teacher organises fairs with her students to raise funds for the rehabilitation of soldiers. The war has claimed the lives of many of Nataliia's graduates. She takes each loss very hard. To pay tribute to each of them, Nataliia wrote an essay about her heroic schoolchildren and took part in an all-Ukrainian essay competition organised by the Museum of Civilian Voices of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which she won.
