My husband died three months ago. He was paralyzed after a stroke for five years. Now I'm all alone. It is so bad to be alone, very bad and scary at night. This war has taken away all hope. We live one day, and nothing pleases us any more.

We live one day, and nothing pleases us any more

We could hear the attacks in our Kuibyshivskyi District of Donetsk constantly. It reminds me of my military childhood. I never thought that the horror of the last century would be repeated again. Shooting round-the-clock. Sleeping in fear at night.

We live one day, and nothing pleases us any more

When I can't sleep alone to get through the restless nights, I call my neighbor. They live in the house opposite and come almost every day – helps with the housework, feeds the dog Lada. The neighbor is also single, and has had two surgeries in her time. I'm glad I'm alive and can walk.
