On 24 February 2022, when russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, everything changed for 76-year-old Kyiv resident Nadiia. Like for millions of others, that day was a shock — but at the same time, it became the point where fear turned into action. Despite her age, Nadiia didn’t stand aside. She joined the volunteer initiative “Charivni Lastivky” — a community of women who, from the first weeks of the war, began weaving camouflage nets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Nadiia didn’t stop — she still weaves nets to this day.
