“It was an ordinary evening before the full-scale invasion. I had two nephews at home at the time. We went to bed. I woke up because I had a dream in which explosions were heard. I opened my eyes and my dad was standing by the window telling my mom that the war had broken out. So, unfortunately, it wasn't a dream”, - Maria recalls the first hours of the beginning of the big war. The girl was still a minor at the time. She and her family left. Her father and brother went to defend the country and perished.

Today, her husband also defends the independence of the Ukrainian people. Maria has a small child and says that she would like to have more children, but in the current situation she is very afraid to take on even more responsibility.
