At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Iryna lived in Kharkiv. However, in mid-March 2022, she traveled to Mariupol to evacuate seven citizens.

“Ukraine is dead! It hasn’t existed since 2014!“ a russian soldier (russist) shouted at the checkpoint,” Iryna recalls.

She entered the city through the port. She saw and heard the russians’ heavy artillery. In mid-March, the russian military continued to destroy Mariupol.

“I saw a burnt fire truck, a driver, a bus. I saw women, they were looking through me. They didn’t see me,” says Iryna Rassadina.
