Vira was seriously injured as a result of a missile strike on Odessa. At the moment of the explosion, she was walking down the street and didn’t even hear a sound - only a strong blow to the back, after which she lost her hearing and vision. She was saved by passers-by - a woman and a boy, who were the first to run to the scene of the tragedy, pulled Vira and took her to the hospital. She underwent a trepanation, a skin graft surgery and several complex operations. Now she is disabled and undergoing rehabilitation. Vira is grateful to doctors, friends, family and the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation, which helped pay for expensive medicines.
