"I saw on TV how they were clearing the rubble. I took my shopping trolley and went"

Halyna Yehorova, a resident of Kyiv, went to the partially destroyed Okhmatdyt children's hospital after the morning rocket attack on Kyiv on July 8, 2024. The pensioner took a shopping trolley, bought food and water and rushed to help rescuers and volunteers.

Halyna, who is 70 years old, spent the whole day helping those who were clearing the rubble, despite the heat and the repeated threat of shelling. The interview with Halyna was recorded when she was carrying water bottles alongside young people.
