Nadiia met the war in Kherson with two sons in her arms, the youngest of whom was not yet a year and a half old. They spent the entire occupation in Kherson – 8.5 months. They had no contact with their relatives in Lviv. The occupiers went from apartment to apartment, searched, took prisoners, mocked, tortured and interrogated people. Nadiia waited for her liberation from the occupation and enjoyed the silence for almost two weeks. Then, the russians started shelling the city every day. They had to leave.
